FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Everything you need to know about CutoffIQ and Baseball IQ training.
GETTING STARTED
What is CutoffIQ?+
CutoffIQ is a baseball intelligence training platform that teaches athletes to think the game faster through position-specific scenarios, decision trees, and progressive level mastery. Athletes build a verifiable IQ score across all 9 positions and 10 competitive levels.
Who is CutoffIQ for?+
CutoffIQ is built for three audiences: athletes (ages 4-22) who want to train their decision-making, coaches who want team-level IQ data, and parents who want visibility into their child's cognitive development.
Is CutoffIQ free to use?+
Yes. Athletes can create a free account and begin training immediately. Coaching and parent features may have additional access tiers.
How do I get started?+
Create a free account at cutoffiq.com/register, complete the onboarding profile (selecting your position and level), and begin your first session. The platform will guide you from there.
Can I use CutoffIQ on my phone?+
Yes. CutoffIQ is a Progressive Web App (PWA) optimized for mobile and installable on iPhone and Android devices for a native app experience.
BASEBALL IQ & TRAINING
What is Baseball IQ?+
Baseball IQ is the cognitive ability to read game situations, make correct decisions under time pressure, and position yourself before plays develop. It is measured across five dimensions: situational awareness, decision velocity, positioning intelligence, communication, and pressure performance. See our full guide at cutoffiq.com/baseball-iq.
What is a good Baseball IQ score on CutoffIQ?+
Scores range from 0 to 200. Above 100 indicates solid situational awareness. Above 140 indicates advanced decision-making. Elite D1-level athletes typically score above 160 after consistent training.
How long does it take to improve Baseball IQ?+
Most athletes see score improvement within 2-4 weeks of consistent training (3-5 sessions per week). Significant level progression typically occurs within 60-90 days.
At what age can athletes start?+
T-Ball level begins at age 4. Content is calibrated for cognitive development at every level — a 6-year-old and a 20-year-old train entirely different material with entirely different complexity.
What positions does CutoffIQ cover?+
All nine: Pitcher, Catcher, First Base, Second Base, Shortstop, Third Base, Left Field, Center Field, and Right Field. Each position has its own curriculum and IQ dimension weighting.
What types of lessons are available?+
CutoffIQ uses four lesson types: Concept lessons (knowledge), Scenario lessons (single decisions), Decision Trees (multi-step chains), and Quiz sessions (timed, scored decision banks).
LEVEL SYSTEM
How does the level system work?+
Athletes begin at the level matching their competitive experience. Each level contains position-specific lessons across all four types. Completing a level with sufficient accuracy unlocks the next level. Progress is tracked by IQ score across every rep.
How do I unlock the next level?+
Reach the required accuracy threshold on the level's capstone content. Level gating is enforced server-side — your score must demonstrate competency before advancement, not just completion.
Can I train multiple positions?+
Yes. Athletes can train any of the nine positions at their confirmed competitive level. Your IQ score aggregates across all positions trained.
COACHES
Can coaches use CutoffIQ with their teams?+
Yes. Coaches apply for a coach account, build a team roster, and gain access to every player's IQ score, level progress, and behavioral analytics by position. Apply at cutoffiq.com/coach-apply.
What does the coach dashboard show?+
Team roster, per-player IQ scores, level progress, position breakdown, behavioral analytics (hesitation, confidence, pressure performance), and comparative performance across the team.
Do athletes need their own accounts?+
Yes. Each athlete creates their own account. Coaches link to athletes via the team system. Athletes train independently; coaches observe.
PARENTS
How do parents track their child's progress?+
Parents create a parent account and link to their child's athlete account. The parent dashboard shows IQ score history, level milestones, position training activity, and badge achievements.
Is CutoffIQ safe for young athletes?+
Yes. CutoffIQ is COPPA compliant. No ads. No social features. No public profile. Children's data is managed with parental visibility and protected under our Privacy Policy.
TECHNICAL
What devices does CutoffIQ work on?+
CutoffIQ works on all modern browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge). It is optimized for mobile and installable as a PWA on iOS and Android. No app download required.
How is the IQ score calculated?+
The IQ score is calculated from: decision accuracy (correct vs incorrect), decision velocity (time-to-answer), consistency across sessions, and content difficulty level. It updates after every training session.
Is my data private?+
Yes. CutoffIQ does not sell user data and does not use third-party advertising cookies. See our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy for details.
